Better results require better processes. Our work is rooted in the design thinking framework created by the Stanford Design School, which is designed to generate and uncover as many possible solutions at first (divergent thinking), and then narrow these down to a final solution (convergent thinking). Design thinking fuels results by prioritizing execution over endless deliberation, a continuous learning loop, and valuing people at the forefront as agents of action and change.
We don’t like “experts”. Don’t get us wrong we tremendously value expertise, knowledge, and skill, and have spent decades in the trenches honing our skills and craft. But if we’re honest, outside “experts” tend to bring that knowledge to clients arrogantly, presuming they already know the solution and the process, which hampers true learning and insight. We know our stuff and approach bringing that expertise to you through discovery, dialogue, and interactivity, so we’re creating, learning and growing together.
Our process focuses on the cultivation of your teams to thrive as much as it does in the thinking, technology and plan we deploy. We’ve seen this before, and it drives us crazy: an expert consultant delivers their neatly-packaged solution for you, making everyone feel great in the moment. Fast forward in time, and that magic “solution” didn’t actually deliver. The problem? It wasn’t designed with your people as the focus, so it never had a chance to be sustainably successful— adopted, owned and refined by your team who actually works at your organization.
The Uncomfortable Truth
Your comfort zone is not usually where success lives. The courage to find clarity and act on it doesn’t come without some moments of discomfort. Too many consultants believe in telling you only what you want to hear, and that success is defined by their clients feeling “good” all the time. We don’t want you to feel good, we want you to be great, so we’re willing to pull and prod to make that happen. But we’re fun, energetic and empathetic direct communicators, so we’ll do our best to make sure the sometimes uncomfortable journey of transformation won’t always feel quite so bumpy.
